The Bernina Hammer Mode:

If you've ever worked with heavy or layered fabrics on a domestic sewing machine, you know the challenges they present. Bernina, however, has designed a unique feature for just these situations—"Hammer Mode."

Despite being classified as domestic machines, Berninas are powerful and nearly comparable to industrial-grade machines. Hammer Mode is a built-in mechanism that enables the needle to pulse through thick or layered fabrics, adding an extra push when needed. This feature automatically activates as the machine senses increased thickness, allowing the needle to adjust its height to tackle up to 30 layers.

It keeps stitches consistent and prevents needle strain, offering a helpful boost for bag makers or anyone working with multiple fabric layers. When the machine detects a dense area, Hammer Mode kicks in, giving the needle a bit of extra height and pressure to sew through seamlessly.

This feature provides more flexibility and control for home sewists, making heavy-duty projects much more accessible
