The presser foot's sole includes a built-in guide that aligns the fabric edge up to the needle entry point, keeping the material securely in place and preventing it from slipping out of the scroll.

The scroll on the presser foot's front allows for a double-fold of fabric in one swift movement, creating a strong, fray-resistant hem.

BERNINA offers a range of seven hemmer presser feet. With the Straight Stitch Hemmer #62, the channel width in the foot's sole is perfectly matched to the finished 2mm hem width.
